Today is the day we start the process of pushing BirdieScope live.
Both Apple and Google have developer programs which require approval. To get an app in either the Apple App Store or the Google Playstore, you must submit the app to their program, then wait for their engineers to run some security tests and analysis. Their goal is to check for holes and vulnerabilities which would allow hackers or unwitting people to expose data or exploit a potential vulnerability.
Staying one step ahead of hackers is a continual process, and a responsibility we take extremely seriously. To that end, we’ve done some major testing around our data platform to make sure the security tools we’re using to store user data and payment info are rock solid, and we’ve also paid for access to some of the most secure and respected software for tasks like data/password storage, and payment processing, ensuring that sensitive info cannot be scraped by common hacker techniques like scraping or brute force attacks.
The submission process is going a bit slower for both companies due to the Covid crisis and staffing accommodations they’ve been forced to make. We could easily be looking at 1-2 weeks, as opposed to the previously typical 3-4 days for both platforms combined. Nevertheless, for those of you on our waiting list, you’ll be playing a few rounds with us soon!
Also, don’t forget that the promo code “PlayDobson” will get you two free weeks at the Dobson Ranch course in Mesa!
